CEBU, Philippines - One died and three others were injured in separate shooting incidents in the towns of Argao and Liloan, Cebu.
A farmer was shot dead while watching a card game inside the house of his neighbor in barangay Apo, Argao at midnight Friday.
Jojo Carrion, 26, died from a gunshot wound in his head after two unidentified persons shot him.
Carrion was watching a game locally known as tong-its in the living room of the house of a certain Mr. Blanco when a dog barked loudly outside, prompting him to open the door.
Upon seeing the gunmen, Carrion immediately closed the door and went back to the table where his neighbors were.
He was asked by a certain Hernani who was outside but before he could answer, two shots rang out, causing the group to run towards a room. It was not until later when they noticed that Carrion was already hit in the head.
The perpetrators immediately fled onboard a motorcycle.
Senior Police Officer 1 Arnold Abenir of the Argao Police Station said Carrion died of the gunshot wound in the back of his head, the bullet exiting through his forehead.
Abenir said that a piece of the jealousy blade was also broken after it was hit by a bullet. Policemen recovered a shell of an M1 Carvine firearm.
