Trader shot dead in Dalaguete

CEBU, Philippines - A businessman died on the spot after he was shot by two unidentified men while on his way to church yesterday morning.

Godofredo Gerat, 60, a resident of Sitio Mag-alambak, Barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete, sustained a single gunshot would to the back of the head.

Police said that Gerat was onboard his Kawasaki Fury motorcycle with license plate number 2612-KJ when two men riding tandem on a red Rusi motorcycle without a plate number tailed him.

Upon reaching the plaza in front of the San Isidro Parish church, the assailants shot Gerat in the head.

Gerat dropped to the ground as the assailants fled. The police are still looking for them. — (FREEMAN)
