Granny robbed of Bible, P5 coin
CEBU, Philippines - A bible and a P5 coin were not spared by two unidentified highway robbers who held up an old woman in Barangay Poblacion Sogod Friday evening.
Cherlin Medado Almecin, resident of Sitio Abo, was walking on her way to attend a prayer meeting at the Senior Santiago Parish Church when two motorcycle-riding robbers discretely followed her.
Upon reaching an unlighted portion of the national highway the suspects grabbed her bag and fled towards Catmon town. The victim told the police that her bag only contains her bible and P5 coin.
On that same day another robbery was pulled off by still two motorcycle-riding robbers in Sogod. Ephraim Ilagan, 29, resident of Spring Village, Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla lost P7,000 to the unidentified robbers in Sitio Eme, Barangay Dumlog, Sogod.
Ilagan was driving his Honda Dream motorcycle bound for Cebu City from Bogo when the robbers tailed him using a black XRM motorcycle without plate numbers.
Upon reaching Barangay Dumlog, the robbers who were wearing bonnets to hide their faces overtook him and declared a hold up. — (FREEMAN)
