Grandmother, 67, raped twice

CEBU, Philippines - A 67-year-old widow in Madridejos has accused her 21-year-old neighbor of allegedly raping her twice.

The woman, whose name withheld by The FREEMAN, was crying when she reported to Madridejos Police Station on March 2 pointing to her neighbor Yandy Lorca as the suspect.

The alleged rape happened Sunday dawn and a month prior to it. The victim said she was sleeping with her seven-year-old granddaughter when the suspect sneaked into her house and raped her.

The victim claimed Lorca also tried to rape her granddaughter after her but she was able to free herself and got a bolo from the kitchen and tried to attack the suspect prompting the latter to flee. The suspect allegedly ran outside the house naked.

The victim claimed she was able to recognize the suspect while fleeing because of the streetlight outside her house.

According to the police, the victim did not report the first incident.

 “Tungod lagi pud daw kay tiguwang na siya, dili na man daw siya mumabdos. Nya karon naka-hunahuna na siya na mu-file siya ug kaso nya desidido jud siya,” the police said.

The victim said she believes Lorca was also responsible in the first incident because few days before the latest rape incident the suspect allegedly told her something.

“Giingnan daw ni siya sa suspek na ‘atong sundan ang pirmiro natong gihimo. Hubog ko atong una,” the police said.

The police immediately conducted a follow up operation but the suspect was no longer in his house. (FREEMAN)
