CEBU, Philippines - A taxi driver lost his earnings to two unidentified robbers who also commandeered his unit at Horseshoe Drive, Banawa in Barangay Guadalupe yesterday morning.
Amado Cansob, 62, resident of Barangay Mabolo, reported to the Guadalupe Police Station that two unidentified robbers took his Road Runner Taxi with plate and body numbers GXF 819 and 2296, respectively.
The unidentified robbers alleged flagged him down at I.T. Park in Barangay Apas around 2 a.m. yesterday and told him to take them to Horseshoe Drive in Banawa.
Upon reaching the place, one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and declared a hold-up. Cansob said he surrendered his P1,300 earnings to the suspects and ran for his life while the robbers took his taxi unit with them.
An hour later Cansob’s taxicab was found abandoned by the suspects at Dapdap Road, Barangay San Nicolas. It was the second time that a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint in Horseshoe Drive. Another taxi driver was also robbed in the said place at about the same time last Monday.
Gerard Solaterio, 28, a resident of Barangay Cambuntan, Carcar City reported to the same police station that he was robbed of his earnings by two unidentified male passengers when they reached Horseshoe Drive. The two, he said, flagged him down at Mango Avenue.
The police believe that the culprits behind the two incidents are the same. –
