Couple arrested for selling illegal drugs
CEBU, Philippines - A couple was arrested by the Malabuyoc Police after two packs of illegal drugs amounting to P600 were seized from their possession during a buy-bust operation last Saturday afternoon.
The couple was identified as Antoniette Vildosola, 38 and his wife Jocelyn, 36. The operation was conducted at the couple’s house in Barangay Poblacion 1, Malabuyoc town.
The operation was by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. of the Regional Trial Court.
Aside from the illegal drugs, policemen also confiscated one disposable lighter, three pieces hand-rolled tin foils, one rolled tissue paper and forceps.
S/Insp. Amadio Pepito, chief of the Malabuyoc Police, said the couple was placed under surveillance for almost a month following complaints from their neighbors of their illegal activities. He said they conducted the buy-bust because they could not arrest the couple without any proof.
The couple reportedly gets their supply from a source in Barangay Duljo-Fatima in Cebu City. They reportedly distribute to buyers in the town.
“Dili gyud ingon bulto ilang supply, ginagmay pero permi,” Pepito told The FREEMAN.
Antoniette was arrested few years ago for the same case but he was granted temporary liberty after he posted bail.
The couple is currently detained at the Malabuyoc Police Station stockade. Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against them today.
The illegal drugs confiscated were submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory at Camp Sotero Cabahug. — (BANAT NEWS)
