CEBU, Philippines - For not wearing a helmet, a man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving rammed into a metal railing along the national highway in Barangay Legaspi, Alegria town Saturday afternoon.

Police said Dione Apares, 27, a resident of Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City, sustained severe head injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the Reinhard Wertgin Memorial Hospital.

SPO1 Renato Abellar said Apares was driving an XRM Honda motorcycle bearing plate numbers GO-3088 from Barangay Poblacion heading towards Barangay Legaspi.

Apares was allegedly traveling on a high speed while approaching a blind curve when one of the tires of his motorcycle slipped on the slippery road due to the continuous rainfall.
