CEBU, Philippines - Department of Tourism in Central Visayas officials have claimed that the Zipline attraction in Liloan town is fast becoming a magnet for tourists who are looking for adventure.
The town of Liloan is considered a good potential for tourism for the reason that it has beautiful seas and other attractions.
Two weeks after it was opened to the public, the 800-meter Papa Kits Zipline in Liloan town has become the favorite destination of local and foreign tourists.
The FREEMAN has also learned that during weekends when it isn't raining, Zipline serves more than 100 people.
Mini-bus, jeepney, and tricycle drivers welcome the opening of Zipline in the town because some walk-in visitors avail of their services.
The family of lawyer Democrito Mendoza had poured more than P3 million as initial investment in Zipline.
Papa Kits Zipline serves as an added attraction to the existing Papa Kits Marina and Fishing Lagoon, which is owned by the lawyer who is the national president of the Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines.
Michael Mendoza, vice president for Operations for the Visayas of the Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines, said Papa Kits was primarily intended for family use but decided to open it to the public.
Mendoza said one of his brothers thought about putting a zipline in their place to attract more visitors.
He said after agreeing to put up Zipline, men, who were experts in this type of business, were hired. (FREEMAN NEWS)
