Worker stabs fellow worker
CEBU, Philippines - Allegedly upset because his co-workers wouldn't let him join them at a videoke bar for a drink, a construction worker stabbed a fellow worker last Sunday evening in barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.
Joselito Benuya, 31, married, of Sangi, Toledo City was arrested for frustrated murder for stabbing fellow Rico Sala, 45, single, of barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City.
The Subangdaku police station said Sala was drinking with friends last Sunday evening at a diner and videoke bar in barangay Bakilid when Benuya arrived at the bar with the intention of joining them.
But his co-workers refused that he join them because he was still in his dirty work clothes.
Benuya was allegedly offended.
He went back to his workplace and grabbed a deadly weapon, and then went back to the videoke bar.
There, he allegedly swung at Sala several times, hitting him on his left cheek, left side of his neck, and abdomen, and then went back to his workplace.
Upon seeing that there was blood in both his hands, the security guard immediately called the Subangdaku police station whose operatives together with the SWAT arrived at the construction site and turned over the suspect to the police.
PO2 Bryan Berenguer of the Subangdaku Police station said Benuya is currently detained at the police station pending the filing of frustrated murder case against him. (THE FREEMAN)
