Sanchez: Ceasefire for Christmas

-

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez, Jr. declared yesterday a ceasefire against Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for the Christmas season and until January 6 next year, in time of the Three Kings.

Sanchez, however, told reporters that there’s a story worth waiting.

This pertains to the 2011 annual budget which he questioned but was already passed by the Provincial Board.

He refused to give details but Sanchez said there is an item in the executive budget which he described as tantamount to graft and corruption.

“Kung mao na, ayaw na lang. Di nalang mag-ceasefire,” Garcia said, upon learning it is only until January 6.

When sought for reaction, Capitol consultant Rory Jon Sepulveda also said, “Di nako siya mamandaran, mabut-an ug masultihan. If he has unilateral ceasefire, well and good.”

Sanchez did not show up during the mass and up to the program at the Capitol Christmas party yesterday.

“I wish to attend, there is invitation but I’m not part of the program,” he said, hinting that he was not given any role whatsoever.

Sanchez already expected not to be given any part in the program, much as he wished to give the governor the standard Christmas greeting.

Sanchez thanked the Lord when Garcia called his staff to a meeting and assured them of reappointment next year.

“Anyway, peace lang una. Watch after Christmas,” Sanchez added.

Sanchez earlier questioned the approval of the 2011 annual budget.

He asked the court to restrain PB members to approved the P3 billion annual budget which he said as illegal but he failed. (FREEMAN)
