Greg withdraws case

-

CEBU, Philippines - Disappointed over the alleged inaction of the court, Cebu Vice Governor Gregorio Sanchez, Jr. yesterday withdrew the civil case for mandamus, prohibition and damages he filed against Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and three other provincial officials.

“The unreasonable inaction of this Honorable is an indication that it lacks the willingness to handle this case considering that the Honorable Judge is known to be a relative of the respondent governor and maybe the court would not wish be accused of being partial,” Sanchez explained his reason in withdrawing the complaint.

The case is handled by Judge Wilfredo Fiel Navarro, who is allegedly a relative of the governor’s mother, retired Judge Esperanza Fiel Garcia.

“In the light hereof, we respectfully pray that the instant petition be considered withdrawn as we have lose interest thereof,” Sanchez further said in his motion to withdraw filed yesterday before the clerk of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19.  (THE FREEMAN)
