Lapu-Lapu to showcase hotels, resorts Nov. 15

CEBU, Philippines - Beach resort and hotel operators in Lapu-Lapu City have assured city officials of participation in the “Tourism Nite” presentation on November 15.

“Tourism Nite” is one of the programs presented nightly leading to the city’s annual fiesta in honor of the feast of the Virgin of the Rule.

Hembler Mendoza, general manager of Waterfront Hotel Mactan and Casino made the assurance in a meeting called by the Lapu-Lapu City Tourism and Historical Commission.

Former Lapu-lapu City Councilor Damian Gomez, Jr., chairman of the City Tourism and Historical Commission said “Tourism Nite” is an opportunity for the public to become familiar with all beach resorts and hotels in the city.

Gomez said a big number of visitors are expected to watch “Tourism Nite.”

“Usahay man god ang ato kanunay nga gitan-aw mao ang mga langyaw nga turista, pero wala ta makakikta nga naa ang dakong merkado sa mga turista nga gikan sa laing mga probinsya,” Gomez said.

After the Lapu-Lapu City government launched “Island Experience,” a lot of domestic tourists have availed of the 50 percent discount offered by hotels and beach resorts in the city. (FREEMAN)
