MEPZ worker shot to death
CEBU, Philippines – Residents of sitio Ibabao, barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, who went out of their houses after hearing a gunshot Monday night, discovered the body of a man with two gunshot wounds on the head.
The police have not yet established the motive for the killing of Roldan Pagobo, 28 years old, a resident of sitio Malingin, barangay Punta Engano, Lapu-Lapu City, who worked for one of the companies at the Mactan Export Processing Zone.
Investigator SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as of the Homicide Section of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office said residents heard a gunshot at about 8:20 p.m.
He was declared dead by doctors at the Mactan Doctors' Hospital.
Jumao-as said Pagobo's cellular phone and wallet were missing when the body arrived at the hospital.
If Pagobo was robbed, he was shot for resisting or refusing to give up his things, Jumao-as said.
But the police are not discounting the love triangle aspect.
Jumao-as said Pagobo's wife had said that her husband was carrying an affair with a fellow worker at the MEPZ, who is also married.
Jumao-as said the police have already obtained the name of Pagobo's alleged lover but won't reveal it until they had cracked the case. (FREEMAN)
