Talisay City marks "Halad-Inasal" fest

CEBU, Philippines – Talisay City celebrated yesterday its annual Halad-Inasal Festival with street dancing.

The celebration was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of the City of Talisay together with the Cebu Provincial Government and Congressman Eduardo R. Gullas of the first district.

The street dancing, which started from Talisay City Hall at Lawaan II to Talisay City Central School in Poblacion, was participated by various schools and different organizations of the city. Lechon floats from the First Chinese Royal Academy, St. Dominic School and the Universal Extreme Racers were some of the participating contingents.

Contigents from Talisay City College, Talisay City LGU, Pooc National High School, Asian College of Technology, Sisters of Mary, Cebu Saint Therese Learning Center, and Saint Scholastica Academy also showcased their talents.

"Nalipay mi karon kay naka apil jud ang among school once again sa opening parade. It's a wonderful opportunity para namo to showcase our lechon float wearing our school uniforms," a faculty member from the St. Dominic School said in an interview with The FREEMAN.

After the street dancing came the dance presentations from the different contingents at Talisay City Central School in Poblacion were witnessed.

The Halad-Inasal Festival is the annual fiesta celebration of Talisay City in honor to its patron saint Sta. Theresa de Avila.
