CEBU, Philippines – A man, who was sleeping inside his sister's house, landed at the hospital after he was hit by a bullet while his brother-in-law and nephew scuffle for a gun's possession Sunday night in Sitio Bohol-Bohol, Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
Angelito Flores, 43, single, sustained a gunshot wound to the back of his head and was immediately brought to Mandaue City Hospital for treatment.
Police said at 9:30 p.m., Jesus and Jose Torrejos, father and son and the victim's brother-in-law and nephew, respectively, had a heated altercation that led to gun scuffle.
But while they were grappling for the .38 caliber revolver's possession, it accidentally went off hitting Flores, who was sleeping on his stomach in the room.
The bullet pierced the back portion of Flores' head.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and is now out of danger.
Responding policemen from Opao Police Station failed to arrest the two suspects, who immediately fled after the incident. (FREEMAN)
