2 men found dead in Pinamungajan and Cordova

- Mellanie Joy C. Rosales -

CEBU, Philippines – A widower was discovered dead and his neck slashed inside his house at Barangay Poblacion, Pinamungajan, Cebu Monday morning.

That same day, another man was also found dead at the back of the barangay hall in Barangay San Miguel, Cordova, Cebu.

In Pinamungajan, Dominador Alicaba Villacencio, 55, of Sitio Latida in Poblacion, was slashed in the neck. He also had several stab wounds in the different parts of his body.

The Pinamungajan Police disclosed that Villacencio was last seen drinking with some friends at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday inside the house of his daughter Cheliza, 28, whose child was baptized.

Villacencio and a certain Marlon Valdelobar, 32, had an argument. After the altercation, at around 8:00 p.m., some bystanders said that they saw Valdelobar carrying a sharp bladed weapon near the garage of Jegans Bus.

Early morning of the next day, Cheliza called her father for breakfast but when he did not answer, she went inside his house to wake him up.

She then saw her father already dead, bathed in his own blood and with several wounds.

The police tried to contact Valdelobar for further investigation but he did not answer. He was no longer in the area.

Police are still conducting further investigation to look for witnesses who could possibly identify the perpetrator.

Meanwhile in Cordova, Reynaldo Casquejo, 36, was found dead inside their house at the back of the barangay hall.

SPO3 Teofilo Amodia Jr. of the Cordova Police Station told The FREEMAN that they received a telephone call through 117 informing them of the matter.

They immediately verified and found Casquejo lying on his bed, already dead with blood coming out from his mouth.

"Baho ug gahi naman ang lawas pag-adto namo. Mao nagduda mi na dugay-dugay nang patay ang biktima. Mga kadlawon pa siguro," Amodia added.

Casquejo reportedly was drinking with friends last Saturday and Sunday.

It was Rosario, his mother, who discovered her son's body.

She told the police that his son went home drunk Monday dawn. She was about to wake him up at around 8:00 a.m. but was greeted instead with the shocking scene.

Amodia said Casquejo was known for his constant drinking. He said the police had received complaints against him for creating trouble and having a fight with his mother when drunk.

It was also reported that Casquejo was suffering from chest pains, which police believe was caused by his constant drinking.

Rosario requested for an autopsy on his son, although the police found no bruises or wounds. (FREEMAN)
