CEBU, Philippines – Four policemen were patrolling a village when they chanced upon two men pointing a gun at a woman in Punta Princesa, Cebu City at 7:30 a.m. yesterday.
Police Chief Inspector Aileen Recla, SPO3 Rogelio Cañete Jr., PO2 Reglyn Pepito and PO2 Renato Berido of the Punta Princesa Police Station were conducting a preventive patrol at Victor Village 2 corner Tres de Abril St., Brgy. Punta Princes sa when they saw two men on board a motorcycle pointing a handgun to a woman.
The woman was later identified as Percy Faunillan, 29 years old and a resident of Tres de Abril.
A brief chase happened by the police and the two robbers who were on board a red and black Honda Wave motorcycle with plate numbers 3438GS.
The responding team successfully arrested the two suspects at the Paseo San Ramon in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.
The police identified the two suspects as Alberto Garcia, 21 years old and the driver Edcel Narvasa, 25.
They recovered a brown wallet, two mobile phones worth P11,000 and P200 cash.
The police also confiscated a homemade .38 caliber revolver and four live ammunitions from Garcia.
Garcia denied owning the gun although he admitted committing the robbery because he needed money "for fare." (FREEMAN)
