CEBU, Philippines – The police are pursuing the younger brother of former Cebu's public enemy number one, the late Joel "Tongol" Nodalo, after he was implicated in a shooting incident in Ermita Tuesday night.
Isidro Nodalo, Jr. alias Botex allegedly shoot an unidentified man after the latter ignored him when he asked for P5 coin.
PO3 Geoffrey Gutual of the Homicide Section said the victim was about to board a trisikad when Nodalo and another companion identified as Rosewell Pugoy asked money from him.
Gutual said the victim ignored the two and continued walking towards the area where he can ride trisikads.
"Kanang manghingi og kwarta gud, mangutana 'Naa ka'y singko diha, bay'. Nya gi-ignore ra man sila sa biktima," Gutual said.
The victim was already riding in a trisikad when Nodalo followed and shoot him from behind.
The still unidentified victim is described to be in his 40s, medium-built, semi-bald and 5'6 tall. He was wearing a white shirt and short pants during the incident.
Nodalo immediately rode on a motorcycle and sped off after shooting the victim.
Records show that Nodalo has been in and out of the city jail because of alleged involvements in several shooting incidents in the city.
His elder brother, Tongol, was once considered Cebu's public enemy no. 1 and one of the most wanted in Central Visayas for his involvement in the notorious robbery group.
Tongol was shot dead by a lone gunman inside a cockpit in Buenavista, Bohol in June 2005 at the height of the vigilante-style killings in Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
