Engineering Brigade celebrates 25th anniversary
CEBU, Philippines – The 53rd Engineer Brigade of the Philippine Army will celebrate its 25th anniversary on August 26 at the Camp Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.
Major Frederick Ancheta, 53rd information officer, revealed yesterday that they will be having a very simple program to commemorate their anniversary.
Awards for Best Commander Batallion and Best Junior Officer will be handed out during that day.
In yesterday's Kapihan sa PIA forum, Ancheta enumerated the various infrastructure projects that their unit has completed, such as bridges and school buildings in the Visayas Region.
Most of these projects, however, were in Negros Oriental and the military unit contributed by their labor inputs.
They are also planning a housing project for the military at Tanjay, Nagros Oriental.
"Para sa mga sundalo na walang bahay. May design na, parang subdivision. Sa kanila na talaga ito at pag-aari na nila ito," said Ancheta. (FREEMAN)
