Worker found dead in his company's bunkhouse

CEBU, Philippines - A construction worker was found dead last Friday inside a bunkhouse in barangay Pooc, Talisay City.

Initial investigation conducted by the police in Talisay Cityrevealed that Dominador Bacayawa, a native of Baliwag, Bulacan, died in his sleep.

This was corroborated by Danilo Ador, foreman of LBC Workers where Bacayawa worked for.Ador told investigators PO3 Arnold Damasco and members of the homicide team who responded to the alarm that Bacayawa last Thursday night slept shortly after taking his meal.

Friday morning, workmate Roger Banga Rodriguez, a native of Libertad, Butuan City, went to check on Bacayawa since the worker had not moved out of the bunkhouse yet and that it was almost time for the workers to start working.

Bacayawa was stiff and cold when Rodriguez started to awaken him.

According to Wikipedia (wikipedia.org), possible causes of sleep paralysis include "sleeping with the face upwards or supine position;irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in, sleep deprivation, increased stress; sudden environmental/lifestyle change; a lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode, and excessive consumption of alcohol coupled with lack of adequate sleep."

Bacayawa's body was brought to Saint Francis Funeral Homes in barangay Bulacao, of the same city, where it will be autopsied to verify it there was foul play in his death.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
