30 fully-grown marijuana plants uprooted in Dalaguete

CEBU, Philippines - Elements of the Dalaguete Police uprooted 30 fully-grown marijuana plants in sitio Latawan, barangay Nalhub, Dalaguete, Cebu around 4am the other day.

The team conducting the operation was composed of Police Inspector Bonifacio Lucerna, Senior Police Officer I Edwin Quilaton, Police Officer III Christopher Requina, Police Officers II Renaldo Amarilinto, PO2 Noeh Rosales, and Maximo Bercenia.

Amarilinto said they conducted the operation after Rosales received information about the said plantation from an informant. The plantation was located about 18 kilometers away from the Dalaguete town proper.

Amarilinto said they went to the plantation at a time when they were expecting the owner to visit the site. No owner showed up so they just decided to uproot the marijuana plants.

Investigation is now ongoing to determine the identity of the plantation’s owner. PO2 Godofredo Glipa, desk officer of the Dalaguete police, said the owner is facing charges for violation of Section 2, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. — THE FREEMAN
