Robbers arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Three armed men who robbed jeepney passengers last June 15 were arrested the following day in sitio Negative, barangay Carreta, Cebu City.

Arrested were Arnel Rosales Roflo, 18, a resident of barangay Hipodromo; Renato Tampus, 28; and Ryan Hinaloc, 18, both residents of sitio Negative, barangay Carreta.

Recovered from the suspects were a Nokia 3100 cellphone worth P4,000, belonging to Bonessa Alicaya Garciano, 18, residing in sitio Laray, barangay Inayawan, Cebu City.

She is the daughter of Theft and Robbery Section Chief Bonifacio T. Garciano.

Bonessa Garciano said that last June 15 at around 9:10 p.m., she was on a jeepney when the three men pulled out knives upon reaching the corner of MJ Cuenco and Gen. Maxilom Avenue Brgy. Carreta.

She said Rosales, one of the suspects, poked his bladed weapon at her before getting off the jeepney.

Chief Garciano said the arrested suspects are temporarily detained at CCPO lock-up cell.

They were brought to the Capitol yesterday for the filing of charges in court against them and will be taken to the BBRC afterwards. — THE FREEMAN
