CEBU, Philippines - A security guard was found dead early yesterday morning inside a construction firm in Barangay Mabolo.
A construction employee found the dead body of Victor Baratas on a monobloc chair at around 5:30 a.m. inside the DCD Construction at Cabahug St. Corner S. Osmeña Avenue.
Baratas, a security guard under Glemco Security Agency, is believed to have succumbed to cardiac arrest while on duty because the police did not find any sign of foul play.
In fact, his service firearm was still on his waist when he was found dead sitting on a chair by Joseph Bongalos.
Baratas’ body was taken to San Fernando Funeral Homes for the autopsy.
Meanwhile, an 18-year old laborer was injured after he was shot at while attending a benefit dance in Barangay Sawang Calero.
Ryan Mamac, single, resident of Tupas St. Corner G.M. Basa St. suffered from a gunshot wound in the right side of his body.
Initial investigation revealed that Mamac was called by the suspect who was only known as a certain Michael before the shooting incident happened at 3:50 a.m. yesterday.
Michael fled after the shooting while Mamac was immediately rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he is currently recuperating. — THE FREEMAN
