CEBU, Philippines - Unidentified thieves had barged into the St. Michael Archangel Parish Church in Samboan, Cebu and stole cash and parts of the statues made of ivory.
A report from the parish secretary, Michelle Dinopol, said that one of the culprits broke into the convent Tuesday dawn passing through a manhole covered with light materials.
After having entered the convent, one of the intruders destroyed the church’s main door to allow his or her companions to get inside.
The burglars also destroyed the vault where they took the P10,000 cash. On top of the cash, they also stole the heads of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Veronica which are all made of ivory.
The Samboan police are still conducting investigation to identify the culprits. — THE FREEMAN
