Mandaue's most wanted man arrested in Bulacan

- Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja -

CEBU, Philippines - Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-7) finally arrested one of Mandaue City’s most wanted persons since 1998.

Forty-four-year old Andito Cadusale, who had a bounty of P90,000 on his head, was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the murder of his wife and her alleged paramour in the same year.

Cadasule, a truck driver and a native of Barangay Molo-molo, Villahermoso, Negros Oriental, is reportedly one of the most wanted persons targeted by the CIDG-7 since its chief, Sr. Supt. Ramon Rafael, assumed office in February last year.

The team conducted the arrest in Bulacan province in Northern Luzon last Sunday morning.

The team was armed with the warrant of arrest dated October 16, 1998 issued by Judge Mercedes Dadole of the Regional Trial Court branch 28 in Mandaue City for two counts of murder with no bail bond recommended.

Rafael and his operatives had been pursuing the suspect in at least four provinces in Luzon area early this year.

As Cadasule has been declared as the number one most wanted person in Mandaue City, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has offered a bounty of P90,000 for his arrest.

The suspect has been charged with multiple murder for reportedly shooting to death his wife, Haydee, and her alleged lover, Yolito Canunayon, in July 8, 1998 in Upper Pilapil, Barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City.

SPO3 Teofilo Junata, together with operatives of the CIDG-Bulacan, posed as visitors of the suspect’s neighbor during the barangay fiesta celebration in Tibagan, Bustos, Bulacan after receiving a tip that the suspect was also to attend the celebration.

Based on the witnesses’ accounts, the suspect got mad when he caught his wife and Canunayon in the act of having sex inside their house which prompted him to shoot them to death.

In an interview with reporters yesterday, the suspect denied the allegations hurled against him, saying he was in Bulacan when the incident happened.

He alleged that he already stayed in Bulacan since he and his wife separated in March 1998 and that he did not know Canunayon. He took their only child to his mother’s custody when he allegedly separated from his wife for her being ill-mannered.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
