Man lands in hospital for refusing to yield to robbers

CEBU, Philippines - A man is now in the hospital after a robber shot him three times when he refused to hand over the money he has just withdrawn from an ATM machine of China Bank in Barangay Banilad past 10pm Friday.

The victim, Reyneflor Ugag, 30, a resident of Sanver Casvil Subdivision in Barangay Lahug, was with his girlfriend when the incident occurred. He has just withdrawn money from the bank’s branch along A.S. Fortuna Street when the suspect approached them and declared a hold-up.

Refusing to give in, Ugag threw his wallet away, but the suspect fired three times and hit him twice. 

The suspect then immediately fled using a white motorcycle waiting nearby driven by a cohort. The motorcycle reportedly bore no plate number.

The victim underwent surgery at the Perpetual Succour Hospital.

Sr. Insp. Bonifacio Garciano, chief of Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office, said they will be coming up with a cartographic sketch of the suspects. (FREEMAN NEWS)
