CEBU, Philippines - A portion of a dilapidated road in Greenhills Subdivision in barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City is now asphalted.
Raul Lumapas, president of Greenhills Homeowners Association yesterday said the response from Ruiz was immediate, the repair of Rosal-Dama de Noche Street was finished in two months time after the request to have it repaired was made by homeowners to Mandaue City mayoralty candidate Nerissa Soon Ruiz. The homeowners are extremely happy, he said.
He claimed that before he took over as president of the association last January, requests for repair of the road made to the office of Mayor Jonas Cortes by the association were not acted upon prompting homeowners to seek assistance from Rep. Ruiz, who immediately ordered her staff to prepare funding for the asphalting.
Lumapas said Soon-Ruiz did not only appropriate P1 million for the asphalting of the road, she also spent her own money for the construction of association’s clubhouse.
Although only a portion of the road has been asphalted because the request for its repair came late in the day, Ruiz has promised to go on with asphalting once she gets elected.
Ruiz has said that a total of P15.25 million from her PDAF was used in the cementing, asphalting and improvement of roads in some of the subdivisions in Mandaue City which includes the concreting and drainage improvement at San Jose Village in barangay Umapad, concreting of 2nd Street, 7th Street, 10th Street, and 11th Street and a road network at Dona Rosario Village in barangay Labogon, concreting of 2nd Street at Maria Antonia Village in barangay Labogon, and improvement of a drainage system at Mango Green Subdivision in barangay Banilad.
