CEBU, Philippines - A man reportedly barged into an apartment and robbed close to P300,000 cash as well as two cellular phones and pieces of jewelry in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City last Friday morning.
The lone robber gained entry to the apartment by introducing himself to the house helper that he was a friend of the sister of the owner. The suspect whom the victim, Fierylyn Catamora, identified as Danrib Eduave tricked the helper.
Catamora, 30, said her helper was left alone in her apartment because she was on vacation together with her fiancé while her sister was in school.
House helper Junalyn Mahusay said the suspect came past 10 a.m. and identified himself as the friend of Catamora’s younger sister Pinky prompting her to allow him to get inside.
While inside the apartment, the suspect sneaked into the room of Catamora using a nail cutter to forcibly open the doorknob and took all the valuables in the drawer. The cash and the personal belongings amounted to more or less P300,000.
The victim said she suspects that a friend of her is in cahoots with the suspect as it was only her who knew about her vacation and that Mahusay was the only one left in the apartment. (FREEMAN NEWS)
