Cops sent to Pier 7, bus terminal this Holy Week

-

CEBU, Philippines - Starting yesterday, policemen were deployed at the North Bus Terminal and Pier 7 at the Ouano Wharf by the Mandaue City Police Office in view of the number of passengers flocking these areas this Holy Week.

MCPO Director Noel Gillamac yesterday said more security details are now being stationed at the North Bus terminal and at the Ouano wharf to ensure the safety of passengers.

Gillamac said that tight security measures will be imposed at the terminal and at the Ouano wharf until Monday when passengers start arriving after the four days observance of the Holy Week.

He said tight security measures will also be imposed at the place of worship wherein beat patrols with the help of “force multipliers” such as the Barangay Intelligence Network and barangay tanods.

He said that more security will also be maximized in the crime prone areas along A.S. Fortuna Street and A. Cortes Street and in barangay Mantuyong.

Presently, out of the seven patrol cars that the city has, only five are in good shape.

The newly acquired Toyota Hi-lux is immobile for now after it was bumped yesterday morning.
