Coca-Cola conducts medical mission in fire-hit sitio Aroma

Over a hundred fire victims in sitio Aroma in barangay Subangdaku Mandaue City were given medical assistance since many of them have been suffering from diseases after the fire broke out in the area two weeks ago.

The fire victims, who are now homeless but have been allowed to put up tents, makeshift homes made from cardboard boxes and other light materials expressed gratitude for the free medical services sponsored by the Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines-Cebu Plant.

The softdrink company based in barangay Tipolo, a barangay next to barangay Subangdaku, found some children suffering from high fever either due to cough or other illnesses.

Children also received free food, medicine, and multi-vitamins.

The Mandaue City government had declared the area under state of calamity and had given the victims financial assistance.

Ann Marie Trasmonte, Coca-Cola Cebu plant Human Resource department head said it was the company’s first time to conduct a medical mission in the city and considered it successful because many benefited from it.

Coca-Cola had also conducted various community programs in Mandaue and in some areas outside the city. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon
