DVD store loses P70,000 to burglars

CEBU, Philippines - An establishment selling DVD (Digital Versatile/Video Discs) players and other appliances in Leon Kilat Street, Cebu City lost items to burglars the other day amounting to P70,000.

Danilo de la Peña, a resident of Sabellano St. this city, and the manager of Smart Circuit, reported to the police of the missing items and of traces of forcible entry into the store by the unknown thieves.

Items stolen were four pieces of Hyundai DVD (HOP 310k) amounting to a total of P51,700; an LG Collins DVD which costs P13,498; and three Imax DVDs amounting to P4,802.

Initial investigation conducted by the police revealed that the thieves were able to gain entry by destroying the window of the comfort room of the said establishment. Further, they destroyed the padlock of the backdoor and exited from there.

Thorough investigation will still be conducted at the crime scene by the Cebu City Police Office Theft and Robbery Section with Scene of the Crime Operatives to possibly determine the identities of the thieves. – Antoniette T. Parce/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
