CEBU, Philippines - A socio-political networking website has been created to give everybody the opportunity to get election updates as well as to know first-hand the candidates for a better and wiser elections this May.
First launched last June 2009 but only yesterday in Cebu, politicalarena.com is primarily developed to promote awareness and interactivity in the local political scene, provide users with a common platform to access information about candidates and offer candidates a venue to disseminate information to the public in real time.
Just like any other social networking website, politicalarena.com has features where you can customize your own account, blog, post notifications, join forums and connect to other website like Facebook among others.
Recently, the website introduced new features which include a complete candidate roster, highlighting of each candidate’s platform to present his or her stand on certain issues, a question and answer section, linked blogs and a freedom wall for members to express their opinions.
The main goal is to keep members updated on information that they need to know about their choices. Another unique feature of website is the immediate posting of breaking news about politics as soon as it is reported in the mainstream media.
“Don’t just read about the issues. Get up close and personal with the candidates you are considering for your ticket. Participate in civic events to keep yourself continually informed before that day when you cast your vote,” said politicalarena.com general manager Racquel Cagurangan.
Politicalarena.com does not only post information and updates about the 10 presidentiables, but also the line-ups for vice presidentiable and senatoriables.
“Each candidate is given an avenue for his profile, platform, blogs, announcements, videos and photos. Through this, the Filipino voter can see the electoral options open to him as far as candidates are concerned,” Cagurangan said. — Jessica Ann R. Pareja/BRP (FREEMAN NEWS)
