Drivers hurt in Danao collision

CEBU, Philippines - Two men sustained injuries on the various parts of their bodies after the vehicles they were driving rammed onto each other past 8 a.m. the other day in Danao City.

Police identified the men as Joel Tagalog, driver of the motorcycle with plate numbers 3420-GQ, of legal age, and a resident of barangay Binongcalan in Catmon town.

The driver of the tricycle was identified as Cepriano Matiga Jr., also of legal age, and a resident of sitio Camalig Bato, barangay Taboc, Danao City.

Investigation showed that Matiga was driving his tricycle towards the northern part of the province when Tagalog, who was traveling from the opposite direction, suddenly made a U-turn.

The vehicles rammed onto each other resulting in injuries to both drivers and damage to the vehicles. Due to the impact, Matiga fell off the tricycle while Tagalog was thrown to the pavement.

Aside from sustaining bruises, Tagalog reportedly suffered from a fractured bone in the left leg while some of Matiga’s teeth reportedly broke off.

The two were rushed to the Danao City District Hospital but were transferred later to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
