Support brewing for Asturias coffee farmers

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu provincial government will provide support to farmers in Asturias town who are engaged in coffee farming, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said.

Garcia made the promise when she visited the municipality of Asturias for the turnover of financial assistance to various barangays there, as well as PhilHealth cards to indigent residents in the said town.

Asturias Mayor Edgar Adlawan personally received the PhilHealth cards while the barangay captains received financial assistance from the governor.

Mayor Adlawan informed Garcia and her runningmate, businessman Glen Anthony Soco, that Asturias is the number one producer of coffee beans in Cebu.

Soco has assured Adlawan that he will be supportive to the needs of those involved in coffee farming the way he has been backing the promotion of local products.
