CEBU, Philippines - A 70-year-old carpenter was declared dead after he jumped off a skywalk in Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion town around 9:15 a.m. yesterday.
The victim, Crispino Tubin, a widower and resident of Barangay Garing died at the Eversley Child’s Sanitarium Hospital in Mandaue City due to multiple injuries.
PO1 Jonaskie Romero of Consolacion police said that based on their investigation, the victim suddenly jumped off the skywalk without any provocation.
“Napiyahok g’yud ang nawong niya ug nibuto ang baga niya oy. Hinuon wala kaayo ni nimugna ug traffic kay dali man ni siya gihatud sa hospital,” PO1 Romero said.
The victim was immediately brought to the hospital but the attending physician declared him dead an hour later because of severe injury in his lungs.
“Nibuto man gud ni ang baga sa biktima mao ni iyang namatyan,” Romero added.
The police said they still have to talk to the relatives of the victim to determine what triggered him to commit suicide. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/WAB (FREEMAN NEWS)
