Dumlog pusher charged

CEBU, Philippines - A man has been charged for violation of Section 5 of the Dangerous Drugs Act before the Regional Trial Court yesterday for selling drugs to agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency last September 28 in barangay Dumlog, Talisay City.

Lister Bas, was arrested after he, along with a certain Glenn Watin, who will also be facing charges, sold drugs to PDEA agents who were carrying out their operation.

Last September 28, a buy-bust operation was conducted by the PDEA wherein IO1 Jason Cabataña was designated as the poseur buyer and was given four pieces of P100 with “JC” markings at the upper right portion of the bills.

Cabataña and a confidential agent went to Bas’ house in Dumlog to buy shabu. They asked him if Botskie (referring to one Wilbur Bas) stuff is of good quality. Lister allegedly answered “yes” but added that Botskie only sells at daytime and that it is Glenn Watin who sells at night.

But then Lister asked them how much they would buy, so Cabataña and an agent gave him P400. It was then that Lister and Watin handed to them the shabu. Watin received the money from Lister.

After the transaction, Cabataña arrested Lister.

Watin was able to escape after the operatives lost him when he ran towards the interior portion of the area where people began blocking the way when they saw the operatives coming.
