Man slapped with several drug charges

CEBU, Philippines - Prosecutors slapped a man with several drug charges after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation last October 10.

 Arnel Limpio was charged before the Regional Trial Court for violation of Section 5 of the Dangerous Drugs Act or drug selling, Section 11 for drug possession, and Section 12 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Limpio was the subject of a buy bust operation conducted by elements of the Cebu City Police Intelligence Branch following reports of his drug-dealing activities.

PO1 Adriano Bacatan acted as the poseur buyer during the operation alongside a confidential agent who introduced him to Limpio.

It was allegedly at Limpio’s house when the accused sold one plastic packet of shabu weighing 0.02 grams to Bacatan.

Bacatan said Limpio tried to resist arrest by locking himself inside his house, but his plan did not work and he was subsequently placed under arrest.

Aside from the packet of shabu, police also confiscated two other packets of shabu and 10 rolled tin foils.

No bail was recommended for the selling charge, but prosecutors recommended P200,000 bail for the possession charge and another P40,000 for the charge for possession of drug paraphernalia. — Jasmin R. Uy/JMO    (FREEMAN NEWS)
