Man charged for pimping 3 girls

CEBU, Philippines - A 19-year-old man is facing charges for qualified trafficking of persons in court for peddling the services of three girls, including two minors, to American customers.

Prosecutors filed the case against Amad Agujar who was arrested in an entrapment operation on August 26 at a hotel along F. Ramos Street. No bail was recommended for Agujar’s temporary liberty.

Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City police staged the entrapment after receiving a complaint from the International Justice Mission, a US-based non-government organization that looks after the welfare of youth and women.

The CIIB sought the help of one Jeff Blom and two other Americans to serve as decoys. On the night of August 26, Agujar and the “customers” agreed to meet at the hotel.

The three girls were taken into the room of a hotel wherein camera was installed and transmitted images to a monitor in the next room.

Agujar was placed under arrest just as he received the P20,000 payment for the girls’ services.

The girls were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. — Jasmin R. Uy/JMO      (FREEMAN NEWS)
