CEBU, Philippines - Cebu fourth district Representative Benhur Salimbangon has distributed at least P16 million worth of multicabs to different barangays in his district.
Salimbangon said the distribution of multicabs especially to the mountain barangays is aimed at providing immediate transportation, especially during emergencies.
He said easy transportation is a necessity in the far-flung barangays.
Daphne Salimbangon, media liason officer and daughter of the congressman, said the lawmaker has distributed 20 multicabs in Bantayan, 19 in Medellin, 18 in Daanbantayan, 17 in San Remigio, 14 in Madridejos, 13 in Tabogon, 12 in Tabuelan, 10 in Sta. Fe, and four in Bogo.
Daphne said so far the congressman distributed a total of 126 units of brand new multicabs, which cost P125,000 per unit.
She said her father would distribute more multicabs to barangays in the towns of Bogo, Tabogon and San Remigio in an effort to give vehicles to all barangays in the fourth district.
She added that two barangays in Daanbantayan were given two pumpboats costing P150,000 each instead of multicabs as these barangays were situated on an island where pumpboats are the only means of transportation.
The town also received a truck from the congressman. – Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
