Woman attacks 2 men with knife

-

CEBU, Philippines -  Two men landed in the hospital after their neighbor stabbed them several times early evening last Sunday in Carcar City following an argument between one of the victims and the suspect’s son.

The victims were identified as brothers Temoteo Abella, 33, and his brother Mario, 42, while the suspect was identified as Soledad Villordon, 59.

Based on initial investigation, Mario and Villordon’s son Marcelino had a heated argument regarding gambling at their place when Temoteo tried to pacify the two. However, to the shock of the victims, Villordon appeared and attacked them using a 10-inch knife.

The two victims suffered wounds on different parts of their body. They were first rushed to the Carcar City District Hospital but were later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

Villordon fled but later surrendered to barangay chairman Calito Castañares. She also surrendered the knife she used to stab the victims, including a .38 homemade revolver, three live ammunitions, and one empty cartridge.

Villordon, for her part, said her son actually went to the police station to have the argument entered into the blotter but when he was about to go home, Mario allegedly waited and tried to shoot him using a .38 revolver. Marcelino reportedly managed to evade from the shot and got hold of Mario’s hand.

Manuel Villordon, Marcelino’s brother, even reportedly helped grab the firearm from Mario. At that time, Temoteo reportedly arrived armed with a knife.

On instinct, Villordon, who was peeling vegetables at that time, first attacked and stabbed the Abella brothers.

Villordon was eventually released from jail after the two parties arrived at an amicable settlement. – Gabriel C. Bonjoc/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
