In Fuente Osmeña: Woman loses P96,000 to 3 robbers

CEBU, Philippines - A woman was robbed of P96,000 cash around 11:20 a.m. on Friday at the Fuente Osmeña rotunda by three unidentified motorcycle-riding men.

The victim was identified as Darwisa Amilasaw, 48, resident of Palmas Verdes Subdivision, Barangay Tabunok, Mandaue City.

Amilasaw told police that she just came out of a drugstore in the said place when two unidentified men approached her. One of the men allegedly wrapped an arm around her shoulder and suddenly aimed a gun at her waist and demanded for her shoulder bag which was taken by the other robber.

The perpetrators then approached a man on the waiting motorcycle nearby and sped away together carting away her money amounting to P96,000.

Amilasaw’s shoulder bag, which no longer contained money, was later found in a trash can still at the vicinity of Fuente Osmeña, several meters away from where the robbery took place.

Responding policemen were no longer able to locate the robbers. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB   (THE FREEMAN)
