46 new cops join 'Task Force Colon'
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Police Office created “Task Force Colon Street” wherein over 40 neophyte policemen were deployed on the street’s vicinity starting yesterday.
CCPO director Patrocinio Comendador said that the creation of the task force is part of their intensified anti-criminality campaign here.
Sr. Insp. David Señor, chief of the CCPO Operations Section, said that Colon Street is the area of concentration as police consider the place to be most “crime prone” here in the city.
Fifty percent of those who graduated from the Regional Training School early this month, or 46 out of the 92 fresh graduates, were deployed in the area as part of the task force to increase police visibility. The 46 policemen considered on beat patrol are under the central control of the Operations Branch of the CCPO.
Señor said that some of them will also be deployed in main thoroughfares that connect to Colon Street like Junquera and Magallanes Streets. — Niña G. Sumacot/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
