Four crime suspects fall in saturation drive
CEBU, Philippines – Two suspected robbers and two murder suspects were arrested by Crimes Against Property Unit (CAPU) of the Cebu City Police Office during a saturation drive they conducted last Wednesday morning in the different barangays of Cebu City.
Emerson Dutallas alias “Indong” and Jonathan Pantollano alias “Tata” were arrested in their respective residences on R. Palma Street, Barangay San Roque while Levin Roy Fajardo was picked up in Barangay Carreta and Joel Pagador was arrested in Barangay Ermita.
CAPU chief Michael Anthony Bastes said all the suspects were arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest and were placed under three-day surveillance.
CAPU, assisted by Theft and Robbery Auxiliary Force or the modified Barangay Intelligence Network volunteers and personnel of Mobile Patrol Group conducted the saturation drive or so-called “Oplan Tracker” between 5 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Dutallas and Pantollano were arrested for the crime of murder with the warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Soliver Peras dated September 15, 2008 with no bail recommended.
Fajardo, on the other hand, was arrested for robbery with the warrant issued by Judge Gabriel Ingles dated April 16, 2008 with P40,000 bail recommended while Pagador was nabbed for robbery by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by RTC Presiding judge Generosa Labra dated March 12 with a fix bail bond at P100,000 for his temporary liberty.
The suspects are temporarily detained at the CCPO stockade pending the return of their warrants of arrest to the issuing court.
Bastes said all suspects did not resist arrest except for Dutallas who tried to jump out of the window of his house but was eventually arrested.
The CAPU chief said the saturation drive is a continuous operation conducted by them to remind the criminals that the police are aggressive and are determined to go after them. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
