Wife who refused to cook meal shot
CEBU, Philippines – After his common-law wife refused to prepare food for lunch, 19-year-old Ronnel Rivera got mad and shot her with a .38 caliber revolver last Sunday shortly before noon in sitio Ay-ay, barangay Tag-amakan, Asturias.
Initial investigation conducted by the Asturias Police had it that Rivera and his live-in partner identified as Analyn Digno, 22, got preoccupied with farm work so that at close to noontime, when Rivera asked her to prepare their food for lunch, she reportedly declined saying she is too tired to cook.
Afterwhich, an altercation ensued. Digno reportedly got a broom instead and struck Rivera.
The suspect then got furious, pulled out the .38 caliber revolver tucked in his waist, and shot the victim hitting her in the abdomen.
After that, the suspect reportedly asked his brother to rush the victim to the Balamban District Hospital before he fled.
The victim was later transfered to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
