CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Hall is now looking into the complaint of assistant city treasurer Tessie Camarillo, who claimed she has been disturbed after she received threatening text messages.
Camarillo has written a letter to the City Council regarding the matter. During its regular session yesterday, the council referred her letter to the City Legal Office for investigation.
Camarillo believes the threatening text messages are sent by one of her former fellow employees at the City Treasurer’s Office.
A source said Camarillo has been receiving threats every time that a tax collector of the City Treasurer’s Office is transferred to another assignment for whatever reasons.
The employee, who is believed to be the one who sends the threatening text messages to Camarillo, has been transferred to the city abattoir weeks ago.
“Ambot og siya ba g’yod kaha ang nagpadala sa text messages. Basta kun kining tawhana mabalhin og laing pwesto, si Ma’am Tessie (Camarillo) makadawat dayon og hulga nga kuno usbon ang iyang birthday sa Nobyembre 1,” the source said.
The City Legal Office is expected to summon Camarillo for her to give more details about her complaint and to reveal the identity of the person that she believed to be the one who sent the threatening messages. — Rene U. Borromeo/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
