Cops: "Probable cause" in Osorio slay established

CEBU, Philippines – Cebu City Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador said that they have already established the “probable cause” in the killing of city assistant prosecutor Patrick Brian Osorio.

Comendador said that as the case has already been filed, the role of the police now is to coordinate with the court.

“We believe that we have successful grounds to file the case but dili man ta kabasa sa hunahuna sa korte kay naa man sad sila’y ilang kaugalingong proseso… We are different components man gud. Ilaha na na,” Comendador said.

Comendador said that unless there is a reasonable ground to allow 31-year-old Allan Sinogat to post bail for the case of illegal possession of firearms, they wanted him to remain in jail as the criminal complaint filed against him for Osorio’s murder is still pending in court.

Sinogat, deputy tanod chief of barangay Maghaway in Talisay City, was accused of being one of the killers of Osorio. He was arrested for illegal possession of firearms during a raid on his house the other day.

Comendador said that they conducted a thorough investigation before filing the criminal complaint against Sinogat. — Niña G. Sumacot/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
