CEBU, Philippines – Cebu City health officials have scheduled a dialog and workshop with all barangay councilmen of the city’s north district tomorrow, Monday, to discuss with them plans of actions that may help control dengue.
Durinda Macasucol, assistant head of the City Epidemiology Statistics and Surveillance Unit, said that those invited to attend the dialog are the chairpersons of the Committee on Health in their respective barangays.
There are two separate dialogs that have been scheduled for the chairmen of the Committee on Health in the city’s north and south district barangays.
Officials from the north district barangays were advised to proceed to the Cebu City Health auditorium and attend the dialog and workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, while a similar activity is also scheduled for those in the south district barangays on the same time and venue on June 22.
During the event, the health officials headed by city health officer Fe Cabugao is expected to give tips to the barangay officials on how to be effective in their campaign against dengue hoping that the dengue-related casualties this year will continue to drop.
Mayor Tomas Osmeña expressed dissatisfaction still even if dengue-related casualties went down from 25 in January to May 31 last year to only nine for the same period this year. — Rene U. Borromeo/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
