CEBU, Philippines - A 16-year-old boy who reportedly had the habit of relieving himself along the seashore at night time died of electrocution when he accidentally came in contact with a live wire in barangay Pondol, Balamban town last Monday at past 8 p.m.
PO2 Cesar Climaco of the Balamban Police Station said that the boy identified as Here Banguran was on his way back inside his house after relieving along the seashore when a hanging live wire connected to a barangay electric post hit his abdomen.
By instinct, his 26-year-old brother-in-law Ribomapil Cangrejo who was with him at the reclamation area of sitio Menteryong Daan tried to help him but the swinging wire hit Cangrejo’s foot.
As of this writing, the police investigator together with a representative of the Cebu Electric Cooperative III and barangay officials of Pondol came to check the area where the incident happened. — Christopher Gabriel C. Bonjoc/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
