-

CEBU, Philippines – Popular evangelist Bro. Eddie Villanueva has accepted the challenge to run again in the upcoming 2010 presidential elections as he formally launched his “Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Pilipino Movement” in Cebu yesterday.

Villanueva, who ran as president but lost in the 2004 elections, said in a press conference that it is about time that the country has to have a righteous and genuine leader to lead it.

BPBPM was created to be a rallying point where all God-loving and nation-loving citizens would come together and join forces and resources to bring in the most awaited fresh wind of change and give birth to a new Philippines for the new Filipino.

Lawyer Luis Sison, spokesperson of Bangon Pilipino, the political party of Villanueva when he run in the 2004 presidential race, said that they will mobilize three months from now to have their own candidates from president down to the barangay level.

“We are a movement of Filipinos who believe in God and in the Philippines, that is capable of transforming itself into a productive, prosperous and respectable nation,” Villanueva said.

The top leader of Jesus is Lord Movement added that they stand for good governance and good governance can only be achieved when like-minded Filipinos bind themselves together and provide a moral force.

Villanueva further said that BPBPM has listed seven roadmap by empowering the people, emancipate the people, educate the people, energize the economy, elevate living standards of the people, eradicate bad governance and establish peace in the land. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
