Two killed in shooting incidents

-

CEBU, Philippines - Two were killed yesterday in separate shooting incidents in the city.

One victim, whose identity still remains a question until now, was found in barangay Sambag 2 with multiple gunshot wounds.

Residents could not identify the victim, saying he was not from the area. They said they heard some gunshot but nobody has also seen the gunman.

Responding policemen have recovered 12 empty shells of .9mm pistol in the crime scene. A bullet was still stuck in the victim’s chest while another four slugs were found near his body.

PO2 Leroy Baguio said that they believe the victim was shot in close range because the empty shells were found close to the victims’ body.

Another man was found dead outside his brothers’ house in barangay Suba past 6 p.m. yesterday.

George Mavroleon, 36, a resident of barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City was found with a gunshot wound in the right side if his chest that caused his untimely death.

The brother of the victim, Felipe, said that a certain “Boy Delima” informed him that his brother was found dead outside his house.

Felipe immediately brought his brother to the Cebu City Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.

PO3 Geoffrey Gutual of the Homicide Section said they were informed that the victim was famous for his asking for drugs from the people, which they believe could be the reason why he was killed. But Gutual said that they are also looking at other motives. — AJ de la Torre and Lesley Caminade of Banat News/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
